From the "Jersey Walk" to the "Jersey Rock" and the "Jersey Bounce", Stinky's got his home state covered. Also not one but three songs called "Hackensack" -- which is, when you think about it, a magical, rhythmical name that almost demands to be set to music.
New Jersey has inspired countless songsmiths to spectacular feats of songsmithery. Who can forget the dazzling wordplay of the Andrews Sisters tune:
"If you want to, you can walk us
To a town they call Secaucus,
Near Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ
'Cause the fracas will be raucous
When Ho-Ho-Kus meets Secaucus
In the big game today."
Steve Forbert penned a tune called "Strange Names (North New Jersey's Got 'Em)", and Stinky's got that song for you.
And what about the women! They too have inspired tunes about Jersey Girls, Jersey Babes, and Jersey Wives. Everybody from Gene Franklin & His Spacemen to Tom Morrell & The Time Warp Tophands are on hand to celebrate the Garden State.
So don't put another dime in that jukebox! Instead, toss a few quarters in the tollbooth, and let's go for a ride with Stinky, 'cause It's All About Jersey today!

There's I Like Jersey Best by John Pizzarelli but you're probably saving that for Vol 2. The song Kansas City Kitty (Coon Sander's Nighthawks) mentions Hackensack. At least one version of Hackensack was composed/played by Thelonious Monk but you're probably saving that for vol 2 also! Thank you from a Jersey expat! Oh and there's Neptune City by Nichole Atkins.
